The welcome reception of this year ESVCN Congress will follow the region tradition and will be held as a Port of Honour reception in the cloister of the former Civil Government building of Vila Real. Taking this into consideration the Local organizing committee decided to organize a Post-conference tour that will take place on the 10th of September (Sunday) and will include a Rabelo boat river tour and a visit and dinner at the Roêda beautiful wine farm. Near the University Campus along the Douro river, lies the Alto Douro Wine Region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which we highly recommend for a post-congress visit, not only for the breath-taking landscape but also for the outstanding quality of the wines. One of the most iconic monuments found on the Campus is the Espírito Santo Chapel, used as inspiration for the logo of our Congress.
The university campus is located in the middle of three old farms where new and old farm buildings are located within a beautiful and bucolic botanical garden. The 2023 Congress will take place at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. The Residency Class of the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition will be held on the 5th and 6th of September 2023 (Tuesday and Wednesday). The 27th Congress of the ESVCN will take place in Vila Real (Portugal) from the 7th till the 9th of September 2023 (Thursday to Saturday).
